Cheek naked; opercle naked; central pectoral base sometimes scaled; breast and belly anteriorly naked; predorsal region naked or with few scales anterior to first dorsal fin; first dorsal fin with blackish mark on posterior half of fin near base, marking darkest posterior to fifth spine appearing slightly crescentic .: fusiform / normal; Cross section: oval.
