Dorsal spines (total): 0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13 - 15; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 14 - 16; Vertebrae: 35 - 38. Adipose fin small and slender; pectorals slender and short . Gray to dark greenish blue on dorsally, lighter ventrally; black on operculum and fins; golden or claret on photophores . Branchiostegal rays: 9-10 .: fusiform / normal.
