Genie's dogfish (Squalus clarkae) is a ray-finned fish of the family Squalidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters. This species can reach a maximum total length of 55 cm. It occurs at depths between 242 and 613 metres. With a trophic level of 4.1, it is a mid-level predator. It is assessed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.
This species possess a longer body, smaller interorbital space (equal to that of the mouth width which is 0.78-0.82 times the pre-oral length); short caudal fin; differently-proportioned first dorsal fin (interdorsal space, 24.6% to 25.8% of TL); relatively short snout; prenarial length 0.64-0.69 times mouth width and 1.32-1.59 times eye length; denticles wide, tricuspidate, overlapping, and rhomboid; caudal 'bar' present at the fork of the caudal fin; dorsal caudal lobe wide, and a broad rounded tip .: fusiform / normal; Cross section: angular.
