Silurichthys Gibbiceps (Silurichthys gibbiceps) is a ray-finned fish of the family Siluridae. It inhabits freshwater waters in benthic environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 8.4 cm. With a trophic level of 3.2, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Data Deficient on the IUCN Red List.
Dorsal soft rays (total): 4; Anal soft rays: 47 - 54; Vertebrae: 49 - 51. Differentiated from all its congeners by its distinctively humped head (versus absence of a hump) and fewer serrae on the posterior edges of pectoral spine and articulated segments in mature males (3 serrae on spine and 2 or 3 on articulated segments versus 3 to 8 serrae on spine and 3-6 on articulated segments).: elongated.
