📖 Overview
Pygmy rockfish (Sebastes wilsoni), first described by Gilbert, 1915 is a medium-sized fish in the family Sebastidae (order Perciformes). Adults typically reach 23.00 cm in maximum length. Reported lifespan reaches approximately 26 years. It inhabits marine coastal and open-ocean environments. Recorded depth range: 30 to 274 metres. It occurs in Temperate waters. It feeds on a mix of small fish and invertebrates as a mid-level predator.

🐟 Physical Description
Dorsal spines (total): 13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13 - 14; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 6 - 7. Head spines strong - nasal, preocular, postocular, tympanic and parietal spines present, supraocular, coronal, and nuchal spines absent . Caudal truncate or slightly rounded . Light brown tinged in red, distinctly lighter below; 4 dark blotches along base of dorsal fin, dark pigment extends from back onto fin, may be vague; brownish red stripe on lateral line .
