📖 Overview
Pygmy schindleriid (Schindleria parva) is a ray-finned fish of the family Schindleriidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in reef-associated environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 1.1 cm. With a trophic level of 2.9, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Data Deficient on the IUCN Red List.

Dorsal soft rays (total): 9 - 10; Anal soft rays: 7 - 9. This species is distinguished from all its congeners by the following: with the lowest number of dorsal-fin rays 9-10 (vs. 13-21 in congeners), and with the lowest number of anal-fin rays 7-9 (vs. 10-18 other species); with small premaxillary teeth; gas bladder is not prominent; females bear a series of 30 rectangular eggs in a single row .Cross section: compressed.
