📖 Overview
Huguenin's dragonet (Repomucenus huguenini), first described by Bleeker, 1858 is a medium-sized fish in the family Callionymidae (order Callionymiformes). Adults typically reach 19.00 cm in maximum length. It inhabits marine coastal and open-ocean environments. Recorded depth range: 30 to 80 metres. It occurs in Temperate waters. It feeds on a mix of small fish and invertebrates as a mid-level predator. The species is important as a food fish. As a member of the Callionymidae, it shares life-history and morphological traits with its relatives in the group.

Dorsal spines (total): 4; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 9. Infraorbital canal with no short downward branch at anterior part.. Preopercular spine straight, with an antrorse process at base, 2 to 9 very short upward process on inner side. Second dorsal fin with many small dark spots. Lower margin of anal fin black. Attains 18 cm SL.: fusiform / normal; Cross section: circular.
