This species feeds on benthic sessile invertebrates associated with the hydrothermal seep area. Dissection and scans reveal limpets and snail in the gut of the paratype (Ref 137812).

🐟 Physical Description

Dorsal soft rays (total): 37 - 57; Anal soft rays: 22 - 43; Vertebrae: 80. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: five suborbital bones with 5 pores, occipital pores 2, postorbital pores 3; vertebrae 23 + ~57 = ~80, presence of vomerine 7-8 and palatine teeth 12-15; total gill rakers 2-3+13-15= 16-17, pectoral fin rays 14-15, upper jaw short 33.9-42.4% HLl; snout short 21.3-24.3% HL; precaudal vertebrae 22-23; postorbital pores 3; pectoral-fin rays 4-15 ; occipital pores (1-0-1); eye diameter 12.1-14.9; gill slit 26.9-34.7 .: eel-like; Cross section: circular.
