Dorsal spines (total): 3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 26 - 27; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 16 - 17; Vertebrae: 26. This species distinguished by the following characters: 26-27 segmented dorsal-fin rays; 16-17 segmented anal fin rays; 41-45 scales in lateral series; 32-36 anterior lateral line scales; 20-21 circumpeduncular scales; 32-34 total caudal-fin rays; opercle with a distinct dark spot anteriorly, no dark spot on opercular flap .
