Madagascan dottyback (Pseudochromis madagascariensis) is a ray-finned fish of the family Pseudochromidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in reef-associated environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 5.2 cm. With a trophic level of 3.4, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

This species distinguished by the following characters: 26-27 segmented dorsal-fin rays; 16-17 segmented anal fin rays; 41-45 scales in lateral series; 32-36 anterior lateral line scales; 20-21 circumpeduncular scales; 32-34 total caudal-fin rays; opercle with a distinct dark spot anteriorly, no dark spot on opercular flap .
