This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: claustrum absent; two postcleithra; number of branched anal-fin rays 20-28, mode 25; five branched pelvic-fin rays; adipose fin absent; and a round flap of skin between contralateral pelvic-fins bases absent .: elongated; Cross section: compressed.
