Dorsal soft rays (total): 9; Anal soft rays: 18 - 23; Vertebrae: 32 - 34. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: claustrum absent; infraorbitals 2 + 3 present; a single postcleithrum present; five branched pelvic-fin rays present; adipose fin absent; and a round flap of skin between contralateral pelvic-fins bases absent .: elongated; Cross section: oval.
