This species is distinguished by the following characters: caudal peduncle thick, 20.3%-24.4% BD; pectoral fins rounded; body shallow, 22.6%-28.7% SL; preanal distance short, 52.4%-58.8% SL; vertebrae 41-43; D 21-24; snout long, 15.3%-21.0% HL; eye small 13.7%-21.6% HL; dorsal fin long, 22.1%- 25.1% SL .: short and / or deep; Cross section: compressed.
