McGrouther's perchlet (Plectranthias mcgroutheri) is a ray-finned fish of the family Anthiadidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in benthic environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 7.6 cm. It occurs at depths between 166 and 202 metres. With a trophic level of 3.6, it is a mid-level predator.

This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: segmented dorsal rays 16 with third dorsal spine longest; pectoral rays 14, with all but uppermost branched in adults; lateral line complete, 27-30 tubed scales; no scales on maxilla, mandibles or lower part of snout; lower part of preopercle with two enlarged antrorse serrations; head length 41.9-44.7 % SL; snout length 7.1-9.2 % SL .: elongated; Cross section: compressed.
