🐟 Physical Description
This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: a cluster of abdominal platelets between the pelvic fins; presence of a postdorsal ridge, unicuspid teeth; absence of keels on dorsal and mid-dorsal series of plates; two fenestrae on the anterior portion of pelvic girdle; dorsal profile of the snout elliptical, snout tip naked; presence of dark spots over dorsal and lateral surfaces of head, body and fins; margin of the lower lip smooth; more plates on mid-dorsal; presence of two fenestrae on the anterior portion of pelvic girdle; presence of azygous plates on predorsal region; longer pectoral-fin spine, reaching the second third of dorsal-fin base when adpressed; five infraorbitals; and 30 vertebrae .: elongated.
