Having simple, unicuspid teeth in both dentary and premaxilla; maxillary barbel long and not coalescing with the lower lip; 3-6 azygous pre-adipose plates; nuptial males with pectoral fin spines thickened and richly ornamented with long hypertrophied odontodes .: elongated.
