Bearded velvetfish (Paraploactis intonsa) is a ray-finned fish of the family Aploactinidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in benthic environments. With a trophic level of 3.4, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms.

Ventral surface of lower jaw covered with numerous prickles or papillose villi and with cirri on both inner and outer margins. Isthmus with fleshy pad, its width about 1/4-1/3 of its length .: elongated.
