Broad-mouthed mullet (Paramugil parmatus), first described by Cantor, 1849 is a medium-sized fish in the family Mugilidae (order Mugiliformes). Adults typically reach 30.00 cm in maximum length. It is diadromous, migrating between freshwater and marine environments during its life cycle. It occurs in Tropical waters. It is broadly omnivorous, taking invertebrates, plant matter, and detritus. On the IUCN Red List, it is classified as Least Concern.
