Can be distinguished from other members of the genus in having a combination of the following characters: long nasal barbel reaching to anterior orbital margin, maxillary barbel with pointed tip, tip of pectoral fin not reaching pelvic-fin origin, caudal peduncle length 16.7-22.6 % SL, eye diameter 9.8-14.3 % HL, and an emarginate caudal fin . : elongated.
