Ophichthus Microcephalus (Ophichthus microcephalus) is a ray-finned fish of the family Ophichthidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in benthic environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 63 cm. With a trophic level of 3.9, it is a mid-level predator. It is assessed as Data Deficient on the IUCN Red List.
Body is extremely elongate; dorsal-fin origin is slightly ahead of pectoral-fin tips; pectoral fins are slender, moderately elongate; teeth numerous, stout, close-set, conical but not sharp, biserial on jaws, and irregularly triserial on vomer. VF 12/69/209. Colouration of preserved specimens olive dorsally, yellow on sides; dark band on body along dorsal-fin base and fins are pale .Cross section: oval.
