Hadal trenches are the deepest ocean environments - the Mariana Trench reaches nearly 11,000 meters. Pressures are over 1,000 times atmospheric. Life exists but is highly specialized: hadal snailfish, amphipods, and unique bacterial communities dominate. Scientific submersibles reach these depths only rarely.
