📖 Overview

Nezumia Cyrano (Nezumia cyrano) is a ray-finned fish of the family Macrouridae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in deep-water environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 33 cm. It occurs at depths between 860 and 915 metres. With a trophic level of 3.3, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

🐟 Physical Description

Two large scutes present at snout tip; suborbital ridge developed; underside of snout scaly; gular part and branchiostegal membrane naked . Wide band of teeth in both jaws. Head fully scaled except for gular and branchiostegal membranes. Brownish violet with brownish color predominantly on tail and back. Snout and tips distinctly paler. Oral cavity dark .: elongated.
