🐟 Physical Description

Dorsal spines (total): 7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 16; Anal spines: 1; Anal soft rays: 16; Vertebrae: 26. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: D2 I,16; A I,16; pectoral-fin rays 21-22; gill rakers 5-6 + 17; first dorsal fin is weakly to moderately incised between spines, taller than second dorsal. Colouration: first dorsal fin yellow-grey to yellow, basally purple with 1-4 rows of yellow spots; sides of body without an orange-red lateral stripe .Cross section: oval.
