Nandus Oxyrhynchus (Nandus oxyrhynchus) is a ray-finned fish of the family Nandidae. It inhabits freshwater waters. This species can reach a maximum total length of 6.9 cm. With a trophic level of 3.3, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Dorsal spines (total): 12 - 14; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9 - 11; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 5 - 6; Vertebrae: 24 - 25. Distinguished from all other species of Nandus by its deep dorsal head profile and sharp snout, the presence of 37-42 lateral line scales interrupted at the 24th-27th lateral line scale and the presence of relatively large serrae on the preopercle.: fusiform / normal.
