🐟 Physical Description

Dorsal spines (total): 0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6 - 8; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 11 - 15. Diagnosis: Small and slender species with rounded fins and lacking the distinctive colour pattern of the other species of the genus Micropanchax; dorsal fin with 6-8 rays, anal fin with 11-15 rays; scales on mid-lateral series 27-30 . Colouration: Male colouration: translucent pale olive-grey with a light blue iridescence on the sides and narrow dark grey edgings to the scales; the dorsal fin is colourless to pale yellow; the anal fin is a more intense yellow, sometimes with a pale brown border; the caudal fin is colourless to pale yellow . Female colouration: translucent pale grey without any iridescence on the sides; all fins are colourless .: fusiform / normal.
