📖 Overview
Saddled eelpout (Lycodes mucosus) is a ray-finned fish of the family Zoarcidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in benthic environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 20.4 cm. It occurs at depths between 0 and 825 metres. With a trophic level of 3.9, it is a mid-level predator.

Caudal region very short, preanal length contained less than 2 times in TL; lateral line midlateral; head and belly without scales; sparsely distributed scales only extending to pectoral tip . Body with saddle-like or Y-shaped blotches; white bands on nape and below eye .: elongated.
