Pallid eelpout
📖 Overview
Pallid eelpout (Lycodapus mandibularis) is a ray-finned fish of the family Zoarcidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in deep-water environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 20 cm. It occurs at depths between 100 and 1370 metres. With a trophic level of 3.3, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms.

Dorsal and anal fins confluent with caudal; caudal fin with narrow tip, bluntly rounded; pectorals small . Color almost white, faint speckling of black dots dorsally, more so posteriorly; peritoneum, lining of gill cover, and posterior part of mouth dark .: eel-like.
