This species can reach a maximum total length of 29.8 cm. It occurs at depths between 200 and 300 metres. Dorsal spines (total): 0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 131 - 138; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 114 - 120; Vertebrae: 138 - 147. Body and dorsal fin with many clear dark blotches. Vertical fin rays and vertebrae numerous; abdominal vertebrae 27 or 28, and caudal ones 111-120 .: eel-like.
