Occur in large zooplankton feeding aggregations along steep outer reef slopes . Benthopelagic . Postlarvae are caught with midwater trawl. Apparently preyed upon by Pristipomoides filamentosus . This species has been collected at Kwajalein Atoll at depths of 46-55 m .
