Blackthroat cusk-eel (Lepophidium entomelan) is a ray-finned fish of the family Ophidiidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in benthic environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 25.6 cm. It occurs at depths between 55 and 439 metres. With a trophic level of 3.6, it is a mid-level predator. 🐟 Physical Description

Dorsal soft rays (total): 125 - 133; Anal soft rays: 103 - 114; Vertebrae: 71 - 75. This species possess a pigmented gut; it differs from L. inca by the number of anal rays (103-112 vs. 112-121); from L. kallion and L. maroratum by the absence of any pattern of spots, bars, or blotches in the head and body; from L. maroratum by the long pelvic ray length as a percentage of standard length (4-7% vs. 10-14%) and the short pelvic ray length as a percentage of standard length (3-6% vs. 8-12%) .: eel-like; Cross section: compressed.
