🐟 Physical Description

Lepidocephalichthys kranos is distinguished from all other members of Lepidocephalichthys by the combination of large, exposed scales on top of head; dorsal-fin origin just anterior to pelvic-fin origin; moderate/large size (to 44 mm SL); truncated or slightly emarginated caudal fin; ‘‘hunched’’ body shape (body depth increasing rapidly from snout to pectoral-fin origin); large muscular nape marking end of scaled head; thin, dark, interrupted stripe along side of body present in both sexes .: elongated.
