Marine; bathypelagic; oceanodromous ; depth range 0 - 1000 m . Deep-water; 66°N - 48°S South Atlantic; mainly north of the Gulf Stream edge in the North Atlantic (juveniles south to 32°N) and more generally between 35° and 45°N (up to 66°N as expatriates).
