Flag acara (Laetacara curviceps) is a ray-finned fish of the family Cichlidae. It inhabits freshwater waters. This species can reach a maximum total length of 4.6 cm. With a trophic level of 3.2, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

🥚 Reproduction
Lays 300 eggs. Males and females have similar colors but the males are slightly larger. These fish make excellent parents . Eggs and larvae are tended and guarded by both parents .

Freshwater; benthopelagic; pH range: 5.2 - 7.5; dH range: 5 - 12. Tropical; 22°C - 26°C South America: Amazon River basin, in lower portions of tributaries of the Amazon River in Brazil.
