Hemigrammus Filamentosus (Hemigrammus filamentosus), first described by Zarske, 2011 is a tiny fish in the family Acestrorhamphidae (order Characiformes). Adults typically reach 3.60 cm in maximum length. It inhabits freshwater systems including rivers, streams, and lakes. It occurs in Tropical waters. It is broadly omnivorous, taking invertebrates, plant matter, and detritus. On the IUCN Red List, it is classified as Least Concern.The species is kept in the aquarium hobby. Care requirements and behaviour align broadly with other Acestrorhamphidae kept in the hobby.

🐟 Physical Description
Can be diagnosed from its closely related species Hemigrammus taphorni by the following characters: absence of humeral spot (vs. presence); a longitudinal band in the caudal region of the body and absence of caudal spot (vs. presence of caudal spot); 32-35 scales on lateral line (vs. 30-32) .
