Haplochromis Maxillaris
📖 Overview
Inhabits the littoral and sublittoral zones. Most are caught over sand or shingle, few over mud substrate . Feeds on cichlid embryo or larvae. The smallest specimen which was examined proved exceptional in that the stomach was filled with Copepoda and blue-green algae .
