📖 Overview
Grundulus Quitoensis (Grundulus quitoensis), first described by Valencia, Ruiz C. & Barriga, 2005 is a fish in the family Acestrorhamphidae (order Characiformes). It inhabits freshwater systems including rivers, streams, and lakes. It occurs in Tropical waters. It feeds on a mix of small fish and invertebrates as a mid-level predator. On the IUCN Red List, it is classified as Critically Endangered.

🐟 Physical Description
Distinguished by having 3 unbranched rays in the anal fin; 1unbranched ray in the pectoral fin; 12-14 dentary teeth; a second infraorbital about three times larger than the first; a third infraorbital which is not in contact with the preopercle; four small fenestrae in the infero-lateral bone dentary; a premaxilla which presents a long lateral process; a maxilla with two notches in the infero-lateral surface .
