Short-bearded Madagascar catfish (Gogo brevibarbis) is a ray-finned fish of the family Anchariidae. It inhabits freshwater waters in benthic environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 12 cm. With a trophic level of 3.3, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. 🐟 Physical Description

Dorsal spines (total): 2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 12; Vertebrae: 46. Diagnosis: Gogo brevibarbis is distinguished from other members of Anchariidae in having bicuspid teeth on the upper and lower jaws vs. unicuspid . It can be further distinguished from Gogo arcuatus in having a straight dorsoposterior margin of the dorsal fin vs. concave; and from G. ornatus in having a larger eye, 15.9% of head length vs. 9.2-13.6% . : fusiform / normal.
