Fluviphylax Rubens (Fluviphylax rubens) is a ray-finned fish of the family Poeciliidae. It inhabits freshwater waters. This species can reach a maximum total length of 1.6 cm. With a trophic level of 3, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms.

🐟 Physical Description
Dorsal soft rays (total): 4 - 5; Anal soft rays: 7 - 8. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: dorsal fin 4 or 5; dissimilar colour pattern in male, made of rubens-red colour contrasted by black thin flames at all unpaired fins, except on tip of dorsal and caudal-fins and on base of anal-fin that remain hyaline; anal-fin rays usually 7 or 8; and anal-fin being short based, rounded and very deep, and by a very high D/A deviation ratio +9 to 11 .: elongated; Cross section: compressed.
