📖 Overview
Adults inhabit coastal lagoons and brackish bays at mouth of freshwater streams . IS subjected to wide variation in salinity (1-28 ppt.) and temperature (9-25°C) both within and among habitat types. The substrate and vegetation can also differ among lagoon, creek and marsh habitats . They feed mainly on crustaceans, dipteran larvae, gastropods, and invertebrate eggs . Oviparous . Males construct nesting burrows .
