📖 Overview

Enteromius Diamouanganai (Enteromius diamouanganai), first described by Teugels & Mamonekene, 1992 is a small fish in the family Cyprinidae (order Cypriniformes). Adults typically reach 11.30 cm in maximum length. It inhabits freshwater systems including rivers, streams, and lakes. It occurs in Tropical waters. It is broadly omnivorous, taking invertebrates, plant matter, and detritus. On the IUCN Red List, it is classified as Least Concern.The species is kept in the aquarium hobby. Care requirements and behaviour align broadly with other Cyprinidae kept in the hobby.

Dorsal spines (total): 1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10; Anal soft rays: 7. Diagnosis: mouth subterminal; two pairs of unequally long barbels, anterior pair reaching to anterior half of eye, posterior pair reaching beyond posterior border; lateral line complete; 23-25 scales in lateral line; 4.5 scales between lateral line and origin of dorsal fin; 12 scales around caudal peduncle; dorsal fin with concave border, last simple ray strongly ossified and serrated on posterior side; large dark stripe on sides; base of first rays of dorsal fin without black spot; dorsal fin with black markings; pectoral fins reaching origin of pelvic fins, pelvic fins with black distal band . : fusiform / normal.
