This species was collected in calm waters during the minor dry season (June to August), the river does not dry up completely during this season. The river Angadiko is a small and shallow, forested river approximately 10 m wide, with an average depth of 0.5 to 1.0 m and running over a sandy silt bottom with mud; average water temperature around 4:00 pm. varied between 22.5 and 25.3°C (July 29, 2019) .

This species is distinguished by the following characters: last unbranched dorsal fin ray is flexible, simple, and not serrated along its posterior edge; barbels two pairs; circumpeduncular scales 10-11; lateral line scales 26-28; scales between the dorsal-fin base and the lateral-line 4-5; three black spots aligned on the flanks with a greyish black midlateral band eye diameter, 32.4%-34.6% HL .Cross section: compressed.
