🐟 Physical Description

Dorsal soft rays (total): 4 - 6; Anal soft rays: 4; Vertebrae: 18 - 20. Entire body covered with simple, very small, and thickly distributed tubercles Cephalic lateral-line counts: subopercular usually 6, (5-7); preopercular, 3 (1-4). Tail lateral-line counts 9-15. Subopercular spines small, inconspicuous. Paired fins with tubercles covering pedicels and occurring along both dorsal and ventral surfaces of fin rays. Slender fins relatively week .: short and / or deep; Cross section: flattened.
