Chaunacops Coloratus (Chaunacops coloratus) is a ray-finned fish of the family Chaunacidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in deep-water environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 19 cm. It occurs at depths between 1250 and 2000 metres. With a trophic level of 4, it is a mid-level predator. It is assessed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

Marine; bathydemersal; depth range 1250 - 2000 m . Deep-water known from the eastern Indian Ocean between 16°-32°S and 87°- 97°E and the type locality on the Cocos Ridge in the eastern Pacific (5°43'N, 85°50'W).
