Territorial species which occur in shallow lagoon and semi-protected seaward reefs . Benthopelagic . Closely associated with tabular and staghorn Acropora corals upon which they feed on their polyps and mucus. Solitary or in pairs. Juveniles secretive among coral branches . Oviparous .
