Dorsal soft rays (total): 13 - 14; Anal soft rays: 9. Lateral line with 27 to 29 scales, 12 scales around the least circumference of the caudal peduncle; last unbranched ray of dorsal fin about as long as the head; mouth narrow, lower jaw spatulate and median lobe present on lower lip; two pair of barbels .: fusiform / normal.
