📖 Overview

Facultative air-breathing in the genus ; Found in whitewater floodplains among floating macrophytes. Feeds on aquatic insect larvae (primarily Chironomidae) and other small aquatic invertebrates in the type locality. Specimens under reproductive state were encountered during the rising and high water period, which is consistent with the reproductive seasonality of sympatric congeners .
