This species is distinguished by the following characters: lightly colored oral cavity; standard length 4.4 times as great as the maximum body depth and 3.2 times as great as the head length; dentate ventral branch of the praeoperculum; A 36; developed gill rakers 23-24; last pair of pleural ribs reduced .: elongated; Cross section: compressed.
