Gray starsnout (Bathyagonus alascanus) is a ray-finned fish of the family Agonidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in benthic environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 13 cm. It occurs at depths between 18 and 252 metres. With a trophic level of 3.2, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms.

Greenish gray to light brown on dorsal surface, very light brown on ventral surface; 5 or 6 dark brown saddle-like markings across back and on sides; dark brown bars on dorsal and caudal fins; paired fins light .: elongated.
