📖 Overview
Barathronus Parfaiti (Barathronus parfaiti) is a ray-finned fish of the family Bythitidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in deep-water environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 10 cm. It occurs at depths between 1845 and 5005 metres. With a trophic level of 3.4, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms. It is assessed as Data Deficient on the IUCN Red List.

🐟 Physical Description
Dorsal soft rays (total): 80 - 85; Anal soft rays: 60 - 65. The species described from a juvenile have few morphometric characters with some meristic characters that are approximations. It is distinguished by the following set of characters that seems to be diagnostic: D 80-85, A 60-65, pectoral-fin rays 21; precaudal vertebrae 37, total vertebrae 84; long rakers on anterior gill arch 29. Remains of a broken fang laterally on vomer and peritoneum transparent .Cross section: compressed.
