Freshwater; brackish; benthopelagic; pH range: 6.0 - 8.0; dH range: 9 - 19. Tropical; 25°C - 27°C South America: Río Atrato, Colombia, to Belém, Brazil near the mouth of the Amazon River, all Atlantic slope drainages.
