📖 Overview
Argyripnus Scharpfi (Argyripnus scharpfi) is a ray-finned fish of the family Sternoptychidae. It inhabits marine (saltwater) waters in benthic environments. This species can reach a maximum total length of 7 cm. It occurs at depths between 500 and 600 metres. With a trophic level of 3.3, it is a low-level carnivore, feeding on invertebrates and small organisms.

🐟 Physical Description
This species is distinguished by the following characters, and most similar to A. atlanticus, differs in smaller and more numerous maxillary teeth, without a noticeable gap between the last photophore of the lateral row and the first photophore of the ventroanal row, the anus close to the anal-fin origin, and, possibly, some meristic and morphometric characters, for the verification of which additional material is necessary .Cross section: compressed.
